Farm Systems Analysis
The Farm Systems Analysis group conducts research to improve the production and sustainability of agricultural systems.
One major focus of the research is into the effects of climate variability and change on agriculture, and the identification of adaptation options. We also identify pathways for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural production evaluated in a farm systems context. The research approaches include use of a range of biophysical farms systems models, greenhouse gas accounting tools, Life Cycle Assessment and other tools. A strength of our research approach is that we often work in multidisciplinary teams including farmers, farm consultants, social researchers and economists.
